Mole Vanvitelliana: tutti gli even

La Mole Vanvitelliana di Ancona, ex Lazzaretto, situato nel porto della città, è un’opera monumentale voluta da Papa Clemente XXII e progettata da Luigi Vanvitelli tra il 1733 e il 1743.
La forma architettonica della Mole è divenuta uno dei simboli della città: si tratta infatti di un’isola pentagonale sul mare, collegata alla terraferma attraverso tre ponti.
Originariamente, la sua destinazione fu quella di lazzaretto per la quarantena a cui erano soggette le persone e le merci che arrivavano via mare dall’Oriente, al fine di evitare la diffusione di sconosciute epidemie. In origine non aveva alcun collegamento con la terraferma.
Al centro del cortile è situato un tempietto votivo di stampo neo-classico dedicato a S. Rocco, il santo protettore dalla peste e dalle epidemie, che, aperto sui quattro lati, consentiva alle persone rinchiuse nelle stanze che si affacciavano sulla corte di assistere alla messa senza entrare in contatto gli uni con gli altri e con l’officiante.
La Mole Vanvitelliana, aveva inoltre uno scopo di difesa militare del porto e della città e nel tempo, fu anche ospedale militare, caserma, raffineria degli zuccheri e deposito per l’essiccazione dei tabacchi.
Completamente restaurata, la Mole è oggi un grande contenitore culturale, il cui layout la rende perfetta per ospitare eventi, mostre, concerti, spettacoli teatrali e altre manifestazioni, grazie alla presenza di moderne sale espositive e aree per conferenze.
Quante storie ci narra quest’isola artificiale… farne visita è come fare un tuffo nel passato e rivivere le forti emozioni che solo quelle mura sanno trasmettere.
Oggi indosso uno dei miei abiti preferiti, ne amo la stampa “timeless” a pois, il modello con un sensuale scollo alla “Bardot” e la lunghezza, con un’ampia balza sul fondo che lo rende super romantico. L’ho trovato su Shein lo store online sempre attento alle ultime tendenze moda.

The Mole Vanvitelliana of Ancona, also called Lazaretto of Ancona, located in the harbor area of the city, is a monumental building commissioned by Pope Clement XXII and designed by the architect Luigi Vanvitelli between 1733 and 1743.
The architectural shape of the Mole has become one of the symbols of Ancona: it is a pentagonal island, connected to the mainland by three bridges.
Initially, the building served as a leper hospital, where people and goods arriving by sea from the East were quarantined, in order to prevent the spread of unknown epidemics.
It has originally had no land link to the mainland. 
At the center of the courtyard, there is a votive Neoclassical temple dedicated to St. Rocco, the saint protector of plague and epidemics, which, open on the four sides, allowed people locked in the rooms facing the court to attend the mass without contacting each other.
The Mole Vanvitelliana was used also as a military defense for the harbor and the city, and over time it was also used as a military hospital, barracks, sugar refinery and storage for drying tobacco.
Fully restored, now it is a large cultural center, whose specific layout makes it perfect for hosting events, exhibitions, concerts, theatrical performances and other shows follow one another, thanks to the modern exhibition halls and to the conference areas.
How many stories tell us this artificial island… to visit it is like diving in the past and reliving the strong emotions that only those walls can convey.
Today, I’m wearing one of my favorite dresses, I love this dress because of the “timeless” polka dots pattern, because of the shape with a sensual “Bardot” neckline, and because of the big ruffle on the bottom that makes it so romantic.
