Il parlamento di Vienna è ospitato all’interno di uno straordinario ed imponente edificio costruito tra il 1874 e il 1883 sulla
Ringstraße, il grande anello che racchiude il centro storico, costruita dopo
l’abbattimento delle mura che circondavano la città a partire dal ‘300. 
Fino al 1918 ha ospitato le rappresentanze imperiali e nazionali e, dopo la caduta dell’impero, è diventato sede delle due Camere del Parlamento. 
Costruito in stile neoclassico, in onore all’Antica Grecia considerata culla della democrazia, due imponenti rampe conducono al portico, modellato su
quello dei templi greci, che si
trova in posizione rialzata rispetto alla Ringstraße, con una facciata di ben 145 metri.
Davanti all’imponente colonnato corinzio si erge la monumentalle fontana dedicata alla dea Atena.
L’aria è pungente in questa elegantissima, ma freddissima città. Indosso un maglione dolcevita e un cappotto in pelliccia, per essere calda e trendy allo stesso tempo, mentre ammiro le sue opere architettoniche di ineguagliabile bellezza.

The
Vienna parliament is housed in an impressive building
constructed between 1874 and 1883 on the Ringstrasse, the large ring
that surrounds the old town, built after the demolition of the wall that
surrounded the city.
Until 1918 it hosted the imperial and national representatives and then has become headquarters to the two Houses of Parliament.
It was built in Neoclassical style, in honor of Ancient Greece considered the
cradle of democracy, two massive ramps leading to the porch, modeled on
that of the Greek temples, located in a raised position with respect to
the Ringstrasse, with a facade of 145 meters.
In front of the imposing Corinthian colonnade stands the monumentalle fountain dedicated to the goddess Athena.
The air is pungent in this elegant, but very cold city. I’m wearing
a turtleneck sweater and a fur coat, to be warm and trendy at the same
time, while I admire its unparalleled beauty architecture.
