La storia di
Vietri Sul Mare ha radici antiche, che vanno indietro fino agli Etruschi
e ai Sanniti, prima di diventare un importante porto romano.
Questa ridente cittadina, considerata la prima perla della costa
d’Amalfi,
si caratterizza per il suo incantevole centro storico, ricco di botteghe di artigiani che quotidianamente creano oggetti in
ceramica, la nobile arte trasmessa da generazioni, da cui nascono opere di inestimabile valore.
Famosa in tutto il mondo per le
ceramiche e le maioliche, questo piccolo borgo di marinai è diventato, dal
1997, Patrimonio Mondiale dell’Umanità dell’UNESCO.
Un incredibile panorama si presenta alla vista guardandola dall’alto: una manciata di case raccolte intorno alla chiesa dalla cupola maiolicata che sembrano tuffarsi in un mare limpido.
Basta vedere Vietri dal belvedere per notare lo splendido campanile della settecentesca Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Giovanni Battista,
che sovrasta il centro storico,  la cui cuspide rivestita di ceramiche sfolgora di colori sotto il sole. Il campanile domina il
panorama cittadino, tra il verde dell’entroterra e il blu intenso del
mare, portatore e testimone di una tradizione che è ancora più viva che
mai.
Passeggiare per le stradine di Vietri sul Mare è una esperienza tutta da
vivere, circondati dagli spettacolari mosaici che ornano le mura del
paese.
In
questo piccolo borgo marinaro le ceramiche artistiche decorano vicoli e
strade, rendendo il paesaggio urbano e costiero ancora più suggestivo.
I loro colori regalano un’armonia unica come il  verde, l’ azzurro e il celeberrimo “giallo di Vietri”, sfumature che oggi vengono definite “irripetibili”.
I motivi decorativi tradizionali si rifanno a una realtà arcadica,
fatta di pastori, paesaggi di campagna, casolari, animali delle foreste
e al tipico paesaggio vietrese, affascinante  per il contrasto tra montagna e mare,
ambienti normalmente così distanti, ma che la Costiera sa far convivere
e coesistere, come valore aggiunto di una terra già ricca di
meraviglie.
I colori che dominano nel mio outfit, invece, sono decisamente autunnali e di gran tendenza, come l'”Aurora Red” e il “Warm Taupe”.

The history of Vietri Sul Mare has ancient roots, which go back to the
Etruscans and the Samnites, before becoming an important Roman port.
This charming town, considered the first jewel of the Amalfi coast, is
characterized by its charming old town with its many shops of artisans
who daily create ceramic objects, the noble art transmitted for
generations, which created artworks of inestimable value.
Famous throughout the world for its ceramics and majolica, this small
village of sailors has named as UNESCO World Heritage in 1997. 
The view is incredible from above: a handful of
houses gathered around the church with the majolica dome that seem to dive
into the clear sea.
From the lookout it’s possible to see the beautiful bell tower of the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist, dating to 1732, overlooking the old town, its magnificent spire coated with glare colorful ceramics ,  boasts colors visible from far away.
The bell tower dominates the town, between the green of the hinterland
and the deep blue sea, witness of a tradition that is still
very much alive.
Walking through the streets of Vietri is an experience to be
lived, surrounded by the spectacular mosaics that adorn the walls of the
village.
In this small fishing village the ceramics decorate streets and alleys,
making the urban and coastal landscape even more evocative.
Their colors give a unique harmony as green, blue and the famous
“Yellow of Vietri”, shades of which are now defined as “unique.”
The
traditional motifs are based on an Arcadia reality, made up of
shepherds, landscapes, houses, animals of the forests and the typical
landscape of Vietri, fascinating contrast between mountain and sea
environments normally so far away, but that Amalfi Coast knows how to co-exist, as an added value of a land already rich in wonders.
The protagonist colors in my OOTD, on the contrary, are decidedly autumnal and very trendy, like the “Aurora Red “and” Warm Taupe “.
