Mykonos non è solo un’isola che attrae celebrità provenienti da tutto il mondo, grazie alla sua vivace vita notturna. È un’isola con peculiare bellezza naturale e un’architettura senza precedenti, la stessa che ha spinto il famoso architetto Le Corbusier, quando ha visitato Mykonos, a dichiarare: “ciò che l’architettura ha da dirci, lo dice qui”.
La sua architettura è dominata da un’ammirabile armonia. È semplice e lineare. Bianche case a forma di sactola, disposte in perfetto ordine tra di loro, intervallate da chiesette e cappelle votive, in un insieme pittoresco.
Le scenografiche chiese sono una delle caratteristiche principali dell’isola.
Si trovano ovunque, solo nella città di Mykonos e nell’area di circa un chilometro quadrato, ci sono più di sessanta vecchie chiese e in tutta l’isola i visitatori possono trovare oltre 400 piccole cappelle. 
La Panagia Paraportiani è una delle strutture più riconoscibili e famose della Grecia. 
Combina diversi stili architettonici in un solo edificio. La sua costruzione iniziò nel tardo XIV secolo e non fu completa fino al XVII secolo, oggi è un insieme di cinque chiese unite su due livelli. 

Indosso un coloratissimo top nel più classico del pizzo da vacanza, perchè non è estate senza crochet, mentre resto incantata dinanzi alla sinfonia dei colori azzurri e bianchi, del cielo trasparente e della luce del sole, che qui a Mykonos creano complessivamente immagini che sembrano saltare fuori da un dipinto.

Mykonos is not only an island that attracts celebs from all over the world, offering a lively nightlife. It is an island with peculiar natural beauty and unprecedented architecture, which made the famous architect and planner Le Corbusier, when he visited Mykonos, to declare “what architecture has to say, it said here”.
Mykonian architecture is prevailed by an admirable harmony. It is simple but wise. Total-white houses, of cubic-like shape, laid out in order and between them a small chapel, with a lace-like facet that complements the picturesque image.
The scenic churches are one of the islands most popular characteristics. You see them everywhere, only in the Mykonos town and an area of about one square km, there are more than sixty old churches and throughout the island, visitors can see smaller chapels that surpass the number of 400.
The Panagia Paraportiani Church is one of Greece’s most recognizable and popular structures. It combines a number of architectural styles into a single building. Begun to built in the late 14th century and not completed until the 17th century, it is actually  an assymetrical conglomeration of five churches into one.
I’m wearing a classic summery lace top, because it isn’t a real summer without “crochet” lace, while I remain enchanted in front of the symphony of blue and white colors, the transparent sky, and the sunlight, that in Mykonos create altogether images that seem like they burst out of a painting.
