Salire a “Dalt Vila” vuol dire fare un tuffo nel passato.
La città alta è il centro storico di Ibiza, l’acropoli circondata da imponenti mura dichiarate Patrimonio dell’Umanità dall’UNESCO nel 1999.
La prima planimetria di questa città-fortezza risale all’anno 1554 e fu voluta da re Felipe II che ne ordinò la costruzione
all’ingegnere italiano Giovanni Battista Calvi, per
difendere i territori dalla minaccia di attacchi dalla Francia e
dall’Impero Ottomano.
Quando l’isola
cessò di essere il bersaglio di aggressioni, la roccaforte rimase in piedi per i posteri come testimonianza di una grande epoca e, attualmente, il centro storico vanta una delle cinte murarie meglio
conservate al mondo.
La fortezza
di Dalt Vila è integrata nella vita quotidiana della sua gente e basta avventurarsi tra le stradine che si inerpicano sulla collina
su cui è appollaiata, per rendersi conto di quanto sia bella e
panoramica questa zona della città.
Il progetto di questa area fortificata ha
volutamente creato un forte contrasto tra le viuzze tortuose che si
snodano tra le mura in pietra, le case bianche ibizenche caratterizzate dai bordi colorati di porte e finestre, con le vivaci maioliche decorative e i fiori ovunque e gli improvvisi squarci sul mare di
un azzurro intenso che ti lasciano senza fiato.
Il testa di moro è il colore che ho scelto per i miei outfits per avventurarmi e perdermi seguendo i miei pensieri nei vicoletti della città vecchia fino ad arrivare alla cima, in questa splendida giornata intrisa di storia, dove Ibiza è meno movida e più relax!

Going up to “Dalt Vila” means taking a leap into the past.
The upper town is the old city of Ibiza, the acropolis surrounded by thick walls declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1999.
The first plan of this fortress-town dates back to 1554 and was
commissioned by King Felipe II, who ordered its construction to the Italian
engineer Giovanni Battista Calvi, to defend their territories from the
threat of attack from France and the Ottoman Empire.
When the island ceased to be the target of attacks, the fortress
remained for posterity as a witness of a great era and, now, the old
town boasts one of the best preserved city walls in the world.
The Dalt Vila’s fortification is integrated into the daily life of its
people and just venturing along the narrow streets that climb up the hill
on which is perched, to realize how beautiful and scenic this part of
town.
The
design of this fortified area has deliberately created a strong
contrast between the winding alleys that wind through the stone walls,
the Ibizan white houses characterized by the colored edges of doors and
windows, with bright decorative tiles and flowers everywhere and sudden
glimpses sea ​​of ​​intense blue that leave you breathless.
The
dark brown is the color I chose for my outfits to venture and lose
myself following my thoughts through the narrow streets of the old town
up to the top, in this wonderful day full of history, where it is an
Ibiza with less nightlife and more relaxation!
