Fondata nel II secolo a.C., con il nome di Attaleai dal re di Pergamo Attalo II, Antalya ha una ricca storia che passa attraverso la dominazione dei romani, dei bizantini, dei crociati e degli ottomani. 
Sospesa tra oriente e occidente, una città senza tempo in cui
antico e moderno, natura e archeologia si fondono regalando al
visitatore un paesaggio unico.
Il centro di attrazione di
Antalya è la parte antica di Kaleici, con gli splendidi viali a doppia
carreggiata, le case turche del XVII secolo e le tracce delle mura romane
che contornano la città.
Notevole la monumentale Porta di Adriano,
costruita nel 130 d.C., in onore della visita alla città dell’imperatore Adriano, è il più bel monumento antico del luogo,
realizzato interamente in marmo bianco decorato, vestigia di un passato ricco di incontri e, spesso scontri, di popoli. 
Una testimonianza storica cui necessariamente occorre dedicare una tappa.
La
porta è di particolare bellezza anche per i materiali con i quali è
stata edificata, su tre archi, fiancheggiati da
due splendide torri e impreziosita da raffinate colonne: uno magnifico esempio di architettura romana, che conferisce all’intero centro storico un fascino inconfondibile.
Amo i contrasti stridenti tra i vicoletti di Kaleici e le ampie strade della metropoli moderna. Due mondi che si spiano a vicenda attraverso questo maestoso arco di trionfo, risalente a oltre 2000 anni fa, conservatosi intatto fino ai giorni nostri.
Continua la mia vacanza “women only” fatta di relax, ma anche tanta storia e cultura, mentre ammiriamo l’imponenza della struttura, dedicando del tempo alle complesse decorazioni che adornano gli archi… immaginando i primi romani che ne varcarono la soglia.
B&W minimal per i nostri outfit. Io ho scelto uno chemisier bianco, un pezzo cult del guardaroba femminile, ma anche la tendenza più chic di questa estate 2017. Ho provato a regalargli un’allure decisamente più moderna e rock, sovrapponendogli una mini in pelle.

beautiful double driveways, the XVII century Turkish houses and the
traces of Roman walls surrounding the city.
Remarkable
the monumental Hadrian’s Gate, built in 130 AD, in honor of the visit
to Antalya of the Emperor Hadrian, is the most beautiful ancient
monument of the city, entirely made of decorated white marble, a
vestiges of a past rich in encounters and often clashes of peoples.
A historical testimony to which a stage must necessarily be devoted.
The gate is of particular beauty also for the materials with which it
was built, on three arches, flanked by two beautiful towers and
embellished by refined columns: a splendid example of Roman
architecture, which gives the entire historic center an unmistakable
charm.
I love striking contrasts between the Kaleici alleyways and the huge streets of the modern metropolis. Two worlds spying on each other through this majestic triumphal arch, dating back over 2000 years ago, kept intact until today.
My “women-only” holiday continues, made of relax but also full of so much history and
culture as we admire the impressive structure, devoting time to the
complex decorations that adorn the arches… imagining the first Romans
who crossed the threshold.
Minimal b&w for our outfits. I
chose a white shirt-dress, a cult piece of the women’s wardrobe, but also
the most elegant trend of this summer. I tried to give it a much more
modern and rock allure, paired it with a black leather skirt.
