Sono ancora in viaggio lungo il “Nastro Azzurro” la strada statale panoramica più bella d’Italia, che collega i paesini arroccati a strapiombo sul mare nella superba cornice della Costiera Amalfitana.
E’ difficile combattare contro la tentazione di fermarsi di continuo a fotografare scorci mozzafiato.
Oggi la mia tappa è a Maiori, dove ad attrarre immediatamente l’attenzione è la Torre Normanna che domina il paesaggio, una magnifica struttura di difesa risalente al 1300, immersa in un ambiente naturale lussureggiante, arroccata sulla scogliera e lambita dal mare, divenuta il simbolo maggiormente rappresentativo di Maiori.
Sono circa 30 i bastioni difensivi costruiti, in più fasi, lungo la fascia costiera che va da Vietri sul Mare a Positano e che ancora oggi ci raccontano la storia di ottocento anni (dal IX al XVII secolo) di lotte sostenute dalle popolazioni locali contro le sanguinose incursioni saracene. Dal periodo bizantino, infatti, attraverso il dominio degli Svevi, Angioini, e poi la dominazione aragonese e quella spagnola, gli abitanti della Costiera Amalfitana hanno dovuto difendersi dagli attacchi dei pirati che saccheggiavano i villaggi con incredibile ferocia, lasciando dietro di sé rosse scie di sangue, macerie e detenzioni.
Il porticciolo di Maiori, invece, è la suggestiva location che ho scelto per fotografare il mio OOTD, un total look bianco che risalta nella rada tra le barche colorate agli ormeggi, che dondolano pigramente come cullate dal mare, mentre in alto sullo sfondo si erge il Castello Miramare, caratteristico per le sue tre torrette cilindriche a guglia conica. La tradizione ne rimanda la bizzarra forma ad un capriccio del Marchese, che volle la sua residenza simile ai castelli della Loira.

I’m still traveling along the “Blue Ribbon” the most beautiful Italian scenic road, which connects the small towns overlooking the sea in the superb scenery of the Amalfi Coast. 
It’s hard to battle on against the temptation to stop continuous photographing breathtaking views. 
Today my stop is in Maiori, where immediately the Norman Tower that dominates the landscape attracts the attention, a magnificent edifice built between 1250 and 1300 d.C., immersed in a lush natural setting, perched above a promontory and lapped by the sea, became the most representative symbol of Maiori.
There are about 30 defensive ramparts, built in several stages, along
the coastal strip going from Vietri sul Mare to Positano and still tell
us the story of eight hundred years (from the IX to the XVII century) of
struggles incurred by local people against Saracen bloody raids. From
the Byzantine period, in fact, through the domination of the Swabians,
Angevins, Aragonese and Spanish viceroys, the inhabitants of the Amalfi
coast had to defense themselves from the pirate attacks who plundered
the villages with incredibly ferocity, leaving behind them a red trail
of blood, rubble and imprisonment.
The small harbor of Maiori, on the other hand, is the picturesque location that I chose to photograph my OOTD, a total white look that stands out in the bay between the colorful boats at their moorings, lazily dangling as cradled by the sea, while above the background stands the Miramare Castle, characterized by its three cylindrical towers with conical spire. The tradition refers its bizarre shape to a whim of the Marquis, who wanted his residence similar to the Loire chateaux.
