Per la donna occidentale media il vero piacere è acquistare vestiti nuovi.
Lo shopping è un momento di meditazione e profonda spiritualità, quasi un momento in cui si entra a contatto con una dimensione parallela, in cui tutto diventa bello e possibile… qualcosa che loro, gli uomini, non capiranno mai.
Gli uomini fanno shopping solo per necessità, indipendentemente dal prezzo, concentrando l’attenzione su un oggetto in particolare.
Per le donne dedicarsi agli acquisti è un’esperienza eccitante, ogni volta unica.
Vuol dire liberarsi dai propri pensieri e dedicarsi a qualcosa di piacevole e confortante. Sembrerebbe, dal punto di vista psicologico, che far shopping e prendere una decisione su cosa acquistare sia una sorta di dichiarazione di sicurezza e senso di potere.

Passiamo ore tra le vetrine dei negozi e amiamo follemente provare ogni cosa, anche quei capi che non compreremo mai.
E’ una sensazione quasi idilliaca quella che proviamo quando afferriamo le buste con i nostri acquisti e usciamo dal negozio in preda ad un rapimento estatico.
Fare shopping è terapeutico, perchè è gratificante, stimolante e appagante.
Per noi donne lo shopping è come una conversazione: non necessita di uno scopo, nè di un risultato specifico e può svolgersi in maniera disarticolata nell’arco di numerose ore. Lo troviamo corroborante e rilassante, indipendentemente dall’esito.
E’ come un istinto primordiale ed ogni donna avrà sempre la scusa valida per giustificare i suoi acquisti: “non avevo nulla da mettermi”, o “non potevo lasciarmi sfuggire questa occasione”, oppure “avevo bisogno di tirarmi su di morale”, o ancora “è bene far girare l’economia”!
Ed io oggi mi sono persa in questa fantastica boutique, indugiando tra vividi colori e l’eleganza sapientemente dosata nei tagli sartoriali di abiti ricamati in oro, ispirati al circo e alla sua follia surrealista, che domina la collezione A/I di Elisabetta Franchi

For the Western woman the real pleasure is to buy new clothes.
Shopping is a time for meditation and deep spirituality, as a time
when you come into contact with a parallel dimension, where everything
is beautiful and possible… something that they, the men, will never
understand.
Men do shopping only by necessity, regardless of price, focusing on a particular item.
For women do shopping it is an exciting and unique experience.
It means to free from our own thoughts and devote to something nice and comforting. It would seem, from the psychological point of view, you go shopping
and make a decision on what to buy is some sort of security declaration
and sense of power.
We spend hours in the stores, to be madly in love to try everything, even those clothes who will never buy.
It’s an almost idyllic feeling that we feel when we grab the shopping bags
with our purchases and leave the store in the throes of an ecstatic
rapture.
Shopping is therapeutic, because it is rewarding, challenging and fulfilling.
Shopping for us is like a conversation: do not need a purpose, nor a
specific result and can take place in a disjointed manner over a period
of several hours. We find it invigorating and relaxing, regardless of the outcome.
It’s as a primal instinct and every woman will always have the excuse to
justify her purchases: “I had nothing to wear”, or “I could not pass up
this opportunity,” or “I needed to cheer me up,” or yet “I’m helping the economy”!
Today I’m lost in this fantastic store of my city, lingering between vivid
colors and the carefully dosed elegance in tailoring of
embroidered golden dresses, inspired by the circus and its surrealistic
madness, which dominates the new collection of Elisabetta Franchi.
