La città di Westminster è uno dei borghi  di Londra, situato sulla riva nord del Tamigi.

Per motivi storici Westminster gode dello status di city, che aveva acquisito già nel 1540, quando era ancora separata dal resto della città. 
L’espansione del tessuto urbano portò alla graduale fusione delle due città e di altri distretti, fino alla creazione della Contea di Londra nel 1889 e successivamente della Grande Londra nel 1965.
Vantando la maggior parte dei segni che contraddistinguono Londra, l’epicentro della vita politica e culturale è qui nella City of Westminster. Fulcro dominante della vita dell’intera metropoli, principale distretto finanziario, ma anche d’intrattenimento e dello shopping.
Viali alberati, parchi, alberghi sfolgoranti di luci, maestosi edifìci dedicati al potere, al commercio, alla finanza, alla guerra, che segnano e simboleggiano il massimo della cultura, dell’economia e dei valori sociali e politici dell’impero Britannico. 
L’abbazia di Westminster, Buckingham Palace e la sede del parlamento del Regno Unito condividono le strade in acciotolato, all’ombra del Big Ben che, maestoso, scandisce le ore.
E se fai una passeggiata sul ponte lungo il Tamigi raggiungerai il London Eye, uno dei simboli più amati di Londra: il grande occhio che domina lo skyline cittadino, la gigantesca ruota posta a 135 metri di altezza, che regala una pausa dalla frenesia della città sottostante e panorami che lasciano a bocca aperta.
E mentre mi perdo nel quartiere più nobile e spettacolare della città, indosso un outfit in B&W con tocchi di rosso, dove un paio di skinny pants a macro righe verticali fanno da protagonista… per un inizio estate londinese in versione “striped”!

The City of Westminster is an Inner London borough which also holds city status, located on the north bank of the River Thames. The London borough was created with the 1965 establishment of Greater London. Upon creation, it inherited the city status previously held by the smaller Metropolitan Borough of Westminster from 1900, which was first awarded to Westminster in 1540.
Westminster is home to many of London’s most iconic attractions.
You couldn’t be in a more famous part of town, or in an area with as many hugely important historic buildings crammed into such a small area when you stay in Westminster. There’s so much to do in this area that one trip probably won’t be enough.
This is the political neighborhood of London. This is where you’ll find the Houses of Parliament, the Big Ben’s tower, many government buildings and embassies – even Buckingham Palace isn’t very far off.
Westminster is also a particularly leafy neighborhood. There are several memorial gardens and wide parks to enjoy. That ample green space, whether you are looking for a place to jog or just to sit and read, is one of the things that make Westminster so special.
And if you take a walk on the bridge along the Thames you will reach the London Eye, also known as the Millennium Wheel as it was built to celebrate the new millennium: a giant Ferris wheel on the south bank of the River Thames. Today, the London Eye has become an essential part of London’s skyline; taking a ride on the Eye is definitely a breath-taking and memorable experience.  At the top, you can take in stunning panoramic views of London, with all the famous landmarks on display at once.
And while I lose myself in the noblest and spectacular district of the city, I’m wearing a B&W outfit with touches of red, where skinny pants with macro vertical stripes are the protagonist… to start my summer in London in “striped” version!
