Ho creduto di entrare a visitare il solito enorme parco immerso nel verde tra giardini e alberi secolari a far da cornice alla solita villa dalla magnificente opulenza aristocratica d’altri tempi e invece sono rimasta attonita, sbalordita dalla bellezza di questo edificio. 
Il Palazzo sull’acqua è la perla dell’architettura polacca, in stile neoclassico, uno dei simboli di Varsavia, l’edificio più importante all’interno del Parco Reale “Łazienki Królewskie”. 
Costruito nel XVII secolo, la sua storia è strettamente legata al governo di Stanislao Augusto Poniatowski, ultimo re della Polonia. Egli decise di creare in questo magico luogo la sua residenza estiva.
Il palazzo ha la particolarità d’esser stato costruito al centro di un’isola artificiale che divide in due parti il lago, collegato al parco circostante da due ponti colonnati, dando l’idea di rimanere sospeso sulle sue acque. Un gioiello unico, ovunque lo si guardi è circondato dall’acqua, coronato da un attico ornato da bellissime statue di figure mitologiche e giganteschi pilastri corinzi.
Oggi, l’antica residenza reale ospita un prestigioso museo, all’interno delle sue sontuose stanze, decorate con stucchi e sculture. 
Una cosa è certa: il re polacco sapeva bene come vivere con stile.
A proposito di stile, oggi indosso un top con stampa a fiori sovrapposto ad una lunga gonna in pizzo, perchè per questo inverno 2018 disegni e applicazioni floreali, con
tutta  la loro carica romantica e bon ton, sono uno statement assoluto.

bello e naturale per illuminare la stagione fredda.

I entered the park and was immediately blown away by its beauty. The Palace on the Isle is Łazienki Park’s raison d’etre in Warsaw: it was as beautiful as the web described it, and so much more!
The Palace was the summer residence of the King Stanisław August Poniatowski.
Its origins date back to the late seventeenth century.
The palace is built on an artificial island that divides the lake into two parts and is connected to the surrounding park by two colonnaded bridges. 
The façades are unified by giant Corinthian pilasters that link its two floors and are crowned by a balustrade that bears statues of mythological figures. The northern façade is relieved by a striking central portico, while the southern façade’s deep central recess lies behind a screen of Corinthian columns. 
Today a museum, almost all of the palace can be visited including the main reception room, Solomon’s Hall, decorated in the most extravagant of Baroque styles with a series of paintings depicting the History of Solomon.
The Polish King sure knew a thing or two about living in style.
I bet he could have entertained anybody for days, in this magical place!
What about my OOTD?
I’m wearing a lovely floral top with a lace pleated skirt, because  this winter 2018, floral prints, with all their romance and bon ton allure, are an absolute statement.
And there is no more beautiful and natural way to light the cold season.
