La Chora, il palcoscenico centrale dell’isola di Mykonos, è un perfetto esempio di architettura cicladica e uno dei più belli della Grecia insulare.
Un capolavoro scultoreo… come i blocchi del Tetris.
Un’architettura tradizionale semplice, eppure geniale. 
Grossi cubi bianchi proteggono dai forti venti e dal caldo torrido.
Questa creazione organica e minimalista delle unità è diventata un capolavoro di carattere unico: oggi restiamo senza parole quando pensiamo alla loro semplicità.
Rocce rotonde, macchie di terra bruciata e piccole cappelle imbiancate creano un paesaggio da sogno che, dal 2005, è protetto dalla legge.
L’intera isola è legalmente classificata come location di particolare bellezza naturale.
L’architettura, la qualità scultorea delle strutture che, essendo bianche, si distinguono così bene, permettendo all’occhio di vedere le forme come una continuità capace di seguire l’ondulazione delle superfici del territorio.
Altre isole delle Cicladi hanno una simile architettura, ma nessuna con la stessa perfezione. 
Ho apprezzato appieno la bellezza e l’unicità della città di Mykonos, le cui strade incontaminatamente, pulite e imbiancate a calce, sono inondate da una rilassante luce morbida e naturale.
È facile supporre che Mykonos sia un’isola di forti manifestazioni di ricchezza.
Ma in termini architettonici, è priva di ogni eccesso e modernità… d’altronde non è necessario perseguire sempre l’opulenza e la complessità del design, perchè sempre più spesso “less is more”.

Indosso una t-shirt e una lunga gonna in pizzo, un outfit-casual chic perfetto per attraversare il labirinto di stradine vestite di bianco e decorate in rosso e in blu, in uno stile semplice e pulito ma, decisamente irresistibile.

The preserved settlement of Chora is a fine example of Cycladic architecture and one of the most beautuful in insular Greece.
A sculptural masterpiece… like Tetris blocks.
A humble yet ingenious traditional architecture.
Square formations and white colors protect from strong winds and the melting heat.
All this takes place in Chora, the central stage of the island.
This organic and shabby creation of unities ended up becoming a masterpiece of unique character:  today, we are left speechless when we think of their simplicity and moderation.
Round rocks, dry earth patches and scattered little whitewashed chapels create a dreamscape that, since 2005, has been protected by law.
The island itself is legally classified as one of distinctive, natural beauty.
The architecture, the sculptural quality of the structures that, being white, stand out so well, allowing the eye to see the shapes as a union and to follow the undulation of the surfaces…
Other Cycladic islands have this, but none quite as perfectly.
I can fully appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of Mykonos town,
whose streets are pristinely clean and white-washed with lime wash, bathed in soft, natural light.
It is easy to assume that Mykonos is an island of loud manifestations of wealth. But in architectural terms, it is devoid of excess and modernity… less is more!
I’m wearing a t-shirt and a lace maxi skirt, a perfect casual-chic combo to walk through the labyrinth of narrow streets dressed in white and decorated in red and blue, with a simple style and clean lines but definitely irresistible.
