Located on the Promenade Emperor Augustus in front of the pier of St.
Anthony, from its viewpoint offers a view of the coast of the city of
Bari.
It was built in 1440 for defensive purposes. The base is a
tower from 1359 built by the Prince of Taranto, Giovanni Antonio del
Balzo, later destroyed by the people of Bari who didn’t like him, and
then rebuilt again between 1501 and 1524 on the will of Isabella of
Aragon.
Under the porch there is a chapel dedicated to St.
Anthony Abbot, which is opened every 17 January, the day of
commemoration of the saint, protector of animals. The chapel houses a
statue of the saint and a picture that depicts his face, author unknown.
After
a period of neglect, the Fortino, as it is called by the people of
Bari, was finally restored and today is used as a venue for cultural
events.

This is the amazing location chosen for my last day in the Apulian capital: the belvedere of the small fortified building, with the immense offer of colorful flowers and plants present outside the houses, is the most beautiful context for my shots… definitely one of the most instagrammable places in the city.
I’m wearing a maxi dress played down by casual accessories, here from the highest point from which to admire the view of the coast that washes the splendid city of Bari.
