Non credevo che la città di Bari avesse un lungomare così bello ed è
forse per quello che mi è piaciuto così tanto.
E’ da sempre il più lungo d’Europa, un luogo magico dove passeggiare e godersi il mare. 
Il posto migliore da dove poter ammirare il vecchio porto ed alcuni palazzi storici adibiti ad uffici pubblici.  
Da percorrere, sedersi fronte mare e godersi un po’ di relax.
E’ impensabile pensare la città senza la lunghissima marina con le sue panchine e i caratteristici
lampioncini, meta ideale per i tanti baresi che fanno footing, magari al
tramonto o all’alba, quando il sole sembra incendiare cielo e acqua,
regalando atmosfere sognanti che rimandano a Istanbul.
Il lungomare di Bari è una delle più compiute espressioni di trasformazione
urbana, fu inaugurato nel 1927 in pieno periodo
fascista ed è uno dei migliori esempi di intervento del fascismo sull’urbanismo svolto durante il regime.  
La città doveva essere centro propulsore verso l’Oriente e
così fu necessario dare a Bari un volto nuovo, utilizzando il mare come
legame forte tra la modernità e il passato marinaro e commerciale.

Così, anche nella ricerca di uno stile architettonico, il fascismo è riuscito a coniugare l’attualità con la tradizione.
Oggi è una delle passeggiate celebri della città e un’occasione unica per ammirare con un colpo d’occhio una serie di palazzi in stile tardo Liberty, ove la struttura più
emblematica rimane il Palazzo della Provincia,
costruito tra il 1932 e 1934, con la sua famosa torre riconoscibile che
dialoga con il centro antico della città doppiando il campanile della
cattedrale. 
Il tailleur pantalone è tornato. Tra i diversi completi moda donna del 2019 riappare pieno di energia, grazie a tagli sartoriali impeccabili e ai colori audaci. Io lo indosso in un rosso brillante, mentre respiro l’atmosfera di Bari e ammiro un ineguagliabile panorama sull’Adriatico… corteggiare il mare da qui non ha prezzo.

Bari’s seafront was inaugurated in 1927 in the Fascist era.

The real glue of Bari is definitely its promenade. 
Built to connect the future Fair of the Levant with the city, it comes to the south to the opposite end of the city.
It is unthinkable to think of the city without the long promenade with its benches and the characteristic lanterns, an ideal destination for so many local residents that make footing, perhaps at sunset or at sunrise, when the sun seems to ignite sky and water giving us dreamy atmospheres send back to Istanbul.
