This is my last post from Seville, here, where the Art Decò style blends beautifully with the neo-Moorish and neo-Mudejar, with Renaissance and Baroque elements to embellish the buildings.
A large U facing the Guadalquivir river, symbolizing the embrace of the Motherland Spain towards its ancient American colonies.
Plaza de España was built for the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929 (Expo 29), is a semi-circular brick building, with two spectacular towers at either end and a bordering lake, infact the Plaza is known as “the Venice of Seville”.
Representative of much of the regional architecture, this magnificent construcion is highlighted with polychromatic ceramic tiles.
Nowadays, it remains a magical place with a style that recreates de Arab constructions of 10 centuries ago and that emphasizes the regions of Spain and its union with America.
The many arches and columns, along with the red brick facade and surrounding gardens, make this construction one of the most impressive in the country and no trip to Seville would be complete without a visit to the Plaza de España.
Entering the Plaza de Espana you feel at the center of the world, like in a prized outdoor living room.
Although most of cities in Spain have a square called “Plaza España”, this one is, surely, the most impressive.
Total look denim for my ootd, with emerald green flashes, because the blue canvas is back in vogue for this season, wearing it from head-to-toe. A casual-chic look to admire a true work of art, one of the most spectacular outdoor architectural spaces I’ve ever seen.
