Un palazzo regale che fa parte del tessuto di Marrakesh, della sua storia, dei suoi colori e delle sue tradizioni.
Situato all’interno dei bastioni del XII secolo che circondano la vecchia medina, nel cuore dell’incantevole città imperiale, di fronte al famoso minareto di Koutoubia.
Da più di 90 anni, La Mamounia è una delle destinazioni più amate dai viaggiatori di tutto il mondo. 
Un’oasi di pace, al riparo dal trambusto dei vicini souk, che ricrea l’atmosfera inebriante di un palazzo orientale, una vera esperienza per i sensi.  
Aperto nei “ruggenti anni Venti”, La Mamounia è sempre stato famoso per la sua straordinaria miscela di decoro Art Déco e orientalista. Le piastrelle ornamentali marocchine, gli intricati stucchi e le lavorazioni in legno intagliato completano perfettamente le forme geometriche, gli stili floreali esotici e i colori vivaci tipici del periodo Deco.
Caratterizzato da un ambiente sontuoso e da un’accoglienza semplice ma elegante, l’hotel è un fine esempio di architettura arabo-andalusa, una vetrina della maestria artigianale locale e testimonianza di un passato illustre.
L’iconico palazzo, che nel tempo ha ospitato diverse personalità internazionali, politici, celebrità e personaggi del jet set, è considerato uno degli hotel più importanti a livello mondiale, sin dalla sua fondazione.
Costruito intorno a otto ettari di giardino, regalo di nozze del re al figlio, il principe Al Mamoun nel 18° secolo, questo è il luogo dove puoi perderti tra 5.000 profumati cespugli di rose, ulivi che hanno anche 700 anni, cactus, palme, limoni, agave e bouganville.
Si passa attraverso un magnifico cancello nel leggendario giardino che conduce alla parte anteriore dell’hotel, sorvegliato da due eleganti portieri. Aprono le doppie porte che conducono nella prima di una serie di vaste lobby: un luogo intriso di storia, magia e leggenda, una vera festa per tutti i sensi.
La Mamounia è davvero uno degli hotel più raffinati che abbia mai visto e vissuto. Questo posto è così accattivante che potrebbe dare un significato completamente nuovo alle Mille e una notte.
Si, degno di un libro, una gemma marocchina rara e preziosa, per la quale vale la pena viaggiare.
Non ho resistito alla fantasia più trendy di stagione, tornata alla
ribalta direttamente dai mitici anni ’80, più contemporanea e graffiante
che mai, un maxi dress in stampa leopard illuminato da tre preziose collane in ematite sfaccettata di diverse forme, colori e lunghezze dalla collezione Brine di EI.EL jewels di Alessandra Laviano. Questo il mio outfit per vivere Marrakech in un ambiente di
eleganza, fascino, tranquillità e, soprattutto, pace. A La Mamounia è come se il
tempo si fermasse e si venisse trasportati in un’altra dimensione:
qui tutto è semplicemente perfetto.

La Mamounia sits in a prime spot in the Hivernage neighborhood, just outside the medina and almost opposite the famous Koutoubia minaret. The best part is the surrounding 17 acres of princely gardens that cushion the hotel from the outside hubbub, with all fruit trees you can dream, flowers offering a balmy scent of olive trees, that come together naturally and are organized in a learned disorder. 
Opened in the ‘Roaring Twenties’, La Mamounia has always been famous for its stunning blend of Art Deco and Orientalist décor. The ornate Moroccan tilework, intricate stucco, and carved woodwork perfectly complement the geometric forms, exotic floral styles and bright Fauvist colors of the Deco period.
You pass through a magnificent gate into a lovely garden leading to the front of the hotel, guarded by two splendidly outfitted doormen. They grandly open the double doors as you sweep into the first of a series of vast lobbies permeated with the scent of the famous Mamounia garden perfume, with a very luxurious atmosphere that is worthy of its Condé Nast Traveler Best Urban Hotel 2013 and a true feast for all the senses.
It is no surprise that such a unique blend of luxury and tradition has attracted some of the world’s best-known historical figures and celebrities… a place steeped in history, magic, and legend.
I must admit, La Mamounia is truly one of the most exquisite hotels I have ever been to and experienced. This place is so beguiling that it may give a whole new meaning to Arabian Nights.
Yes, it’s true: this hotel is certainly worthy of a book.
La Mamounia truly is a rare and precious Moroccan gem, and of course, one that is worth traveling for.
For sure one of the best hotels on the planet.
