Questo è sicuramente uno straordinario pezzo di arte funeraria, dedicato a due delle famiglie più potenti, ricche e influenti della Polonia: lo stupefacente Mausoleo di Wilanow Park a Varsavia fu costruito per Stanisław Kostka Potocki e sua moglie Aleksandra (figlia di Izabela Lubomirska), su richiesta del figlio Aleksander.
Progettato nel 1834 da Henryk Marconi e costruito tra il 1834-1836 da Jakub Tatarkiewicz e Konstanty Hegl, la cappella, in pietra arenaria, è la perfetta imitazione del sarcofago del re Casimiro il Grande nella cattedrale di Wawel. 
L’opera, costituita da un baldacchino neogotico, presenta un sarcofago decorato con 16 archi a punta, su cui sono raffigurati virtù e interessi dei defunti. 
Mentre quattro leoni rampanti, posti agli angoli della base del monumeno reggono gli stemmi ancestrali delle due famiglie.
Indosso un look casual, dal risultato sorprendente e per nulla scontato, un mix & match di righe e quadri in bianco e rosso, mentre ammiro, senza parole, la maestosità di questo splendido monumento commemorativo.

This impressive Mausoleum is, without any doubt, an extraordinary piece of funerary art, befitting two of Poland’s most powerful, wealthy and influential families, this tomb in Wilanow Park was dedicated to Stanisław Kostka Potocki and his wife Aleksandra (nee Lubomirska) Potocka by their son Aleksander.
Designed in 1834 by Henryk Marconi and built between 1834-1836 by Jakub Tatarkiewicz and Konstanty Hegl, the mausoleum is made entirely of sandstone.
The Neo-Gothic stone tomb was made in imitation of King Casimir the Great’s sarcophagus at Wawel Cathedral.   
The sarcophagus case is decorated with 16 sharp-pointed arches on which representations of, among others, personifications of the virtues, as well as Stanisław Kostka Potocki’s interests and activities are placed.
A few years later, figures of four rampant lions were placed at the corners of the monument base, with the ancestral coats of arms and decorations awarded to Potocki, i.e. orders: of White Eagle, of St. Stanislaus and the Legion of Honour. 
I’m wearing a casual look, with a surprising final result, a mix & match of stripe and plaid prints in white and red, while I admire, speechless, the majesty of this splendid memorial monument.
