Una delle capitali europee proiettate verso il futuro è Tirana. 
Ben nota per la sua architettura dell’era ottomana e dell’era sovietica, la città è il cuore pulsante dell’Albania ed ha molto da offrire ai turisti che decidono di visitarla, tanto spazio ad arte, cultura e gastronomia locale.
La città è un luogo accogliente, caratterizzato da un’atmosfera rilassante.
Lonely Planet, nel 2018, ha inserito Tirana tra le destinazioni da non perdere, definendola “una delle capitali più vivaci d’Europa”. 
Il New York Times, anticipando i tempi, la considerava una meta imprescindibile già nel 2014.
Il melting pot culturale della società albanese ne fa un Paese sospeso tra Oriente e Occidente e gli conferisce uno sguardo cosmopolita e internazionale che invita soprattutto i giovani viaggiatori.
Le attrazioni di Tirana ruotano attorno al centro della città, conosciuta anche come Piazza Skanderbeg.
Il monumento dell’amicizia sorge poco distante dalla piazza ed è una grande e variopinta struttura donata all’Albania dal Kuwait per commemorare l’eterna amicizia e cooperazione tra i due paesi: un grande simbolo di intesa tra i due Paesi che dura da oltre 50 anni, un’opera dall’allegro cappello di lenticchie colorate, che combina le nuances delle bandiere dei due Stati.
Tuttavia, la cosa migliore del Monumento dell’amicizia non è la struttura stessa, piuttosto le persone che si riuniscono attorno ad esso.
Il monumento diventa il punto di incontro per molti residenti della città.
Se fai una sosta durante il giorno probabilmente vedrai un gruppo di vecchi giocare a scacchi sui gradini dell’installazione o un paio di signore che gustano una fetta di torta appena sfornata. 
Il Monumento dell’amicizia è un luogo in cui è possibile individuare vere amicizie e vedere la cultura tradizionale albanese prendere vita.
Alle spalle del “Friendship Monument”, il Monumento della Cultura e la volta dorata del lussuoso Plaza Hotel fanno da sfondo perfetto al mio ootd: indosso un abito nella fantasia animalier più trendy di stagione, la stampa leopard, tornata alla ribalta direttamente dai mitici anni ’80, più contemporanea e graffiante che mai, ma in un colore decisamente nuovo e assolutamente eye-catching, il verde smeraldo, richiamato da un caldo e voluminoso gilet in pelliccia.

One of the upcoming capitals in Europe is Tirana, capital of Albania. 
Well known for its Ottoman-era and Soviet-era architecture, Tirana is the beating heart of Albania, with its new cafe scene among Italians and other east European nations, Tirana has a lot to offer in terms of sightseeing, a lot of travelers around the world are exploring this wonderful city.
The city is a welcoming place with a relaxing atmosphere.
Lonely Planet, in 2018, has included Tirana among the destinations not to be missed, calling it “one of the most vibrant capitals in Europe”.
The New York Times, anticipating the times, four years ago, in 2014, considered the city an unavoidable goal. 
Tirana’s attractions revolve around the center of the city, also known as Skanderbeg Square.
The Friendship Monument is a large and colorful structure given as a gift to Albania from Kuwait to commemorate the eternal friendship and cooperation between the two countries, with the colors of the roof matching those of the Kuwaiti flag.
However, the best thing about the Friendship Monument isn’t the structure itself, rather the people who congregate around it.
The monument becomes the meeting point for many of the cities residents.
Stop by during the day and you’ll likely spot a group of old men playing a game of chess on the monument’s steps or a couple of ladies catching up over some freshly made cakes. 
The Friendship Monument is a place where you can spot true friendships and see traditional Albanian culture come to life. 
The Culture Monument and the impressive Plaza Hotel in the background are the perfect shooting set of my ootd: I’m wearing a maxi dress in the coolest print of the season, the leopard print, back in vogue straight from the legendary ’80s, more contemporary and biting than ever, but in a decidedly new and absolutely eye-catching color, the emerald green, paired with a cozy fur vest in the same shade of green.
